Service Description

NOVICE OBEDIENCE - Competitive focus, dogs 6 most or older (Pre-requisite – none for this introductory class. This class is an introduction to the Novice level competition Obedience exercises followed in AKC. Dogs already MAY already know heel, sit, stand, down, stay, and come on leash, but we will teach you if they do not. Novice obedience also teaches the foundations of control off leash and prepares foundations in all required CD performance tasks. This class puts in the foundation work for beginning CD handlers, so dogs and handlers will know enough that, with continued practice, they could enter an AKC obedience trial and attempt to earn a Companion Dog (CD) title. Please note: Competition participation following class is not required. Start March 10, 2025 (8 weeks) Mondays from 6-7 pm Equipment: will need a flat buckle or slip chain collar and a 6-foot leash. Soft treats are used in some training exercises.
